San Diego Moving FAQ

Costs, timing, insurance, apartment rules, and the things movers legally can't put on a truck — answered plainly.

How much do movers cost in San Diego?

Most local moves in San Diego run about $90–$180 per hour depending on crew size, with a two-hour minimum. A one-bedroom apartment typically lands between $300 and $500, and a three-bedroom house between $800 and $1,400. Call (858) 988-0687 and we will quote your exact job before we start.

Do you charge for travel time or truck fees?

We quote travel plainly up front — usually a single trip charge for moves inside San Diego County — and there are no fuel surcharges, stair fees, or hidden add-ons on the final bill.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. AAA Pro Movers carries liability and workers' compensation coverage, and we can email a certificate of insurance to your building or HOA the same day you ask for it.

How far in advance should I book my move?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for most moves. The end of the month, the first weekend of the month, and summer weekends book out fastest in San Diego, so call earlier if your date is fixed.

Do you move on weekends and holidays?

Yes. We work seven days a week, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, at the same hourly rate — no weekend premium.

Can you move a single item, like a couch or a piano?

Yes. Single-item and small-load moves are welcome. Tell us the item, the floor, and whether there are stairs or an elevator, and we will give you a flat price.

Do you provide boxes and packing materials?

We bring blankets, shrink wrap, straps, dollies, and tools on every job. Boxes, paper, and tape can be added to your quote, and we offer full or partial packing the day before your move.

What do you not move?

We cannot transport hazardous or flammable items — propane, gasoline, paint, ammunition, chemicals — or perishable food and live plants on long-distance runs. Everything else we can handle or advise on.

Do you help with apartment and HOA move-in rules?

Yes. We reserve freight elevators and loading zones, work inside building move-in hours, and send certificates of insurance to property managers ahead of time.

Can you store my belongings between move-out and move-in?

Yes. We coordinate short and long-term storage and handle both the load-in and the load-out, so your things are handled by the same crew twice instead of four different ones.
